What is the difference between facilitation, moderation and training?
  • Facilitators: are not always content experts, but are process experts. They guide, shape and keeps on track, different ideas and conversations between many people, towards a common purpose. Facilitators designs the space and activities in such a way that it is inclusive, vibrant, interesting, informative and useful to all the participants. Through creative and interactive activities they find ways to share the knowledge in the room, to openly discuss and debate on different ideas, resolve conflicts, and find common solutions.
  • Moderators: have some in-depth content knowledge of the topic under discussion, and generally through conversations and designed activities manage and shares the information in a concise and clear way to the audience. Please check here for more information and here for a specific example of moderation we have done recently.
  • Trainers: have in depth content expertise and have practical experience and theoretical knowledge of the topic they are training on. The trainer imparts this knowledge and experience, and creates a space in which the participants have an opportunity to learn, reflect and practice some of the knowledge and skills in the workshop or off line.
